You may lose a few initial match-ups, but you will win the war of attrition. It will help you endure the onslaught of enemies. You want one priest in every non-evil group you make. Most classes need high charisma at the very least to promote, while some need high, and others need low.Ĭlerics are OP. Don't have the exact calculations, but it's something you want to keep in mind. And if your enemy Ali is low, then your Ali will increase. So if your current Ali is low, it will lower itself further. It is also determined by your current Ali, and the Ali of your opponent. Ali is a bit more complicated than that though. Fight enemies of higher level and Cha and Ali will increase. Fight enemies of lower level and Cha and Ali lower. If you've got a good grasp on alignment and charisma, it's well worth investing the time to train your angels and fairies, as they become powerhouses at their last stage of advancement. Princess is arguably *the* best unit in the game due to how much stronger she makes her unit.Īs a general point of interest, you'll find most high-powered units on the higher end of the alignment scale, especially since most enemies late game are weak against holy. Your named females, even Rauny, has respectable intelligence to make use of her all-target holy attack, and if you make a princess the leader of a unit, all units will get an extra attack that round. If you ever get a dream crown, and you will get at least one if you find all the side quests, then promote one of your females, preferably a named one, to princess at once. Mostly classes to look forward to, as well as tips on how Ali and Cha works, and there's also a spoilered list of the unique characters. I've spoilered my post because, while I don't think it contains any real spoilers, it does discuss a few things you may not have discovered yet. It's a good way to prevent the enemy from escaping if their leader dies early on, but there's still units with HP left (like an amazon that hid in the back row). The first 1-2 teams pound on the enemy and then retreat. One trick I found effective is to stack 2-3 teams and send them at a powerful enemy force. So if anyone has some tips and tricks they want to share, go right ahead. I have to vary my army's composition to keep up (A magicless team will take forever to beat a dollmage+golem combo). It means I can't design one kind of team for any situation. I think the varied enemies is one of my favorite parts of the game. Thankfully I had a few clerics on the field, so I eventually figured out how to beat them. As this is my first play through, I've tried to go without looking at walkthroughs, but it does seem to have a level of "Guide Dang It" (The situation where you need a guide to get through some parts).įor instance, I learned the hard way that you don't bring melee to an undead fight. There is a ton of tactical info to consider when planning out your battles, so it really gives my brain some exercise. but they're stored differently, and I'm not entirely sure *how* just yet.I've recently gotten ahold of this SNES classic and I'm really enjoying it. Virtually unnoticeable, but it bugged me all the same.Īnyhow, I guess I'm finished with this project, unless I eventually find a way to rip the various small cutscene maps. A very, very minor update (we're talking a single pixel) to the non-item Rime cutscene map. It wasn't hard, and I just kinda overlooked it last time, so. The Valeria Island overworld map (both marked and unmarked). Since hidden items are grouped by "sets", as opposed to being fixed items, I figured one big "master" chart would be easier and more efficient than trying to squeeze that info into each and every map. B3 has no items, but does have a notable secret exit (which is necessary to reach floors below it), so I included that.Īlso included in the zip are the following: Turns out that Hell Gate B1 and B2 have nothing of note hidden on them, so they've been omitted. Every map that *has* items hidden on it has been included.
